The video game is set in a futuristic sci-fi era of 2552. This is supposedly a timeline set before the events of Halo: Combat evolved. Humans in this era, under the command of the United Nations Space Command, are at war with an alien race known to the humans as the Covenant. The main character in the game is Noble 6, a super soldier who is part of an elite squad bent on protecting the human world called Reach. Except for Reach, most of mankind’s interstellar colonies have already been annihilated. Reach itself is described as being like Earth. It is a colony housing the Space Command's main military barracks. The colony is also home to 700 million civilians.

When game play is concerned, Halo Reach is expected to surpass the standards set by Halo 3. No more one-use equipment power-ups and temporary boosts, because armors and armor abilities are nearly permanent in Halo: Reach, unless you get the urge to change or replace them. Speaking of abilities, you might want to try active camo, jetpack and sprint for yourself. Armor Lock is also a cool ability you might not want to miss! It makes you godly invulnerable, but at the cost of being unable to move. Reach also features cool new weapons, perfect for frying the covenant aliens to oblivion.

Halo Reach will also feature multiplayer support systems using Xbox Live, Split Screen and System Link. When compared to its previous video game predecessors, Halo Reach multiplayer modes will be composed of a playlist that will set Spartan vs Spartan battles, Elite vs Elite showdowns, or Elite vs Spartan skirmishes. In case you are wondering what the difference is between using Elite and Spartan players, just note that although Spartans are able to use armor abilities, Elites are faster, are able to dodge and are bestowed with superior shields. “Loadouts” is also one cool new feature that allows players to have a default series of weapons already set when they spawn. Players are also given credits this time, allowing them to customize armor to make the multiplayer game more interesting. The number of credits will depend on how well the player has performed in the previous match.

For halo fans out there, nothing seems more exciting than the scheduled full blast release of Halo Reach. That’s not surprising at all since beta testers of the game have had mostly good reviews regarding the game’s graphics and game play experience.
